3rd Annual UArt Open
UArt San Jose serves the needs of bustling Silicon Valley and the growing South Bay area. Its vast 10,000 sq. ft. store is conveniently located right off Highway 280, at the corner of Saddle Rack Way and Meridian Avenue. The open-plan store offers an extensive line of fine art materials and a custom framing department with a huge selection of ready-made and photo frames.
Its highly knowledgeable staff is ready to answer your questions, and workshops and demos offered in UArt's classroom space are taught by seasoned professionals in their fields.
Each class is designed to help you develop your drawing, watercolor, pastel, oil painting and many other skills in an inviting, enriching environment. Workshops are offered both in the morning and afternoon, and are available as a series or as one-time classes. The current class schedule is available here.

Free Demo on Image Transfers Gel Transfers & Inkjet Imagery, plus Tips on Varnishing
Sunday August 15th, 1 - 3:30 PM
Nina Deckert from Golden Artist Colors will show easy "old school" image transfer techniques using acrylic gels and paints. She'll also show the Digital Mixed Media products that allow you to print beautiful, crisp images on anything you can fit through your printer: handmade papers, cloth, acetate, mylar, gel and paint "skins" and more. Combining the 2 sparks many creative possibilities.
 
We'll also cover the "how to" and "why" of varnishing. This applies to both oil paintings and acrylics. Attendees will see the lots of examples of the process. There will be samples and literature while supplies last.
